Senior Java Backend Developer – Cloud and Banking Solutions 💥

As a Senior Java Developer, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution that is developing next-generation digital banking solutions using modern cloud technologies. You will be contributing to the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance systems that enhance the customer experience across multiple platforms. Collaborating within an agile, cross-functional team, you will be ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products while promoting best engineering practices and continuous improvement throughout the development lifecycle.

Your main responsibilities:

• Designing and developing backend services using Java and cloud-based technologies

• Implementing serverless solutions on AWS or other public cloud environments

• Writing and maintaining automated tests following BDD and TDD principles

• Collaborating with front-end and mobile developers to ensure seamless integration

• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using DevOps practices

• Managing infrastructure as code with Terraform

• Participating in code reviews and ensuring adherence to high-quality standards

• Working closely with product owners and designers in an agile environment

• Monitoring and optimizing application performance and scalability

• Contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• Strong experience with Java development in a cloud-based environment

• Proficiency with AWS serverless architecture or other public cloud platforms

• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs

• Solid understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines

• Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools

• Strong commitment to code quality, testing, and clean architecture

• Ability to write and maintain automated tests using BDD/TDD approaches

• Experience working in agile teams using XP practices

• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Knowledge of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, Android, or iOS

• Experience in the financial services or banking industry

• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes

• Exposure to monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)

• Experience mentoring junior developers or leading small development teams
