Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.
  • 8 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.
  • 3 years of experience leading teams in a technical capacity or leading technical risk analysis in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience in Programming in Go or Python.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and services, including common security challenges or solutions related to cloud infrastructure and services (GCP).
  • Experience in security engineering, security architecture or consulting.

Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

In this role, you will work on a broad set of efforts focusing on defining, measuring, preventing, remediating, and sustaining a healthy cloud security posture. You will also support work to improve security across our acquisitions and other bet companies.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and implement cloud security controls and solutions ensure Alphabet's infrastructure on public clouds (GCP) operates to the highest security standards.
  • Review designs for cloud architecture and already deployed infrastructure to perform technical security assessments to develop threat models, provide design feedback, report security findings and provide remediation recommendations.
  • Design solutions to identify, measure, and remediate security (Google Cloud Platform).
