Android Developer Relations Engineer III, Compose, Kotlin Multiplatform

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience in a technical role (e.g., software engineering, solutions consultant, etc.) or equivalent technical experience.
• 3 years of experience with Android application development and coding in Java/Kotlin.
• Experience communicating and influencing externally, including public speaking and presentations.

Preferred qualifications:

• 3 years of experience as a technical practitioner in a developer community.
• 3 years of experience in building user interfaces (UIs) that can scale effectively.

Part community manager and part developer advocate, Developer Relations Engineers collaborate with developers at conferences and online, and advocate for developers interests internally at Google. Internally, you work with product engineering teams to improve our products by conveying feedback from developers, reviewing API designs and testing new features. With your technical expertise, you drive strategy around fostering a community of developers who work with Google technologies. Android Jetpack is a suite of libraries to help developers follow best practices, reduce boilerplate code, and write code that works consistently across Android versions and devices so that developers can focus on the code they care about. The Android team is constantly innovating new ways to make it easier and faster to create high quality Android apps that better serve the billions of Android users around the world, but also balance this with multi-platform solutions like Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage product engagement and identify user needs.
• Attend or facilitate conferences and events to gain and share insights on user experience and technologies.
• Lead strategic developer programs and act as an authority in the domain.
• Contribute input and feedback on products or programs, and represent the interests of partners to internal stakeholders.
