Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, other relevant engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
15 years of professional software engineering experience.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience designing and implementing systems that leverage genAI to build customer facing products.
Experience with large-scale data processing systems such as Spark, BI/SQL engines.
Familiarity with semantic models and modern ELT tools such as DbT.
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams across different disciplines and organizations.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

As a Principal Engineer focusing on AI driven Data Management, you will be responsible for defining, architecting, and leading the development of advanced GenAI powered agentic solutions that cover different aspects of Data Management ranging from data ingestion, preparation, quality and governance. This includes shaping the strategic roadmap for Google Cloud’s Data Agents , collaborating cross-functionally to integrate AI into the data engineering and governance lifecycle, and driving the adoption of best practices for a truly intelligent and self-serving data ecosystem.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $294,000-$414,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Architect and lead the design and implementation of AI agents and systems to automate data ingestion, transformation and orchestration.
Establish automated, AI-driven mechanisms to handle and correct commonly occurring issues such as schema drifts or other anomalies that result in pipeline failures.
Implement GenAI-based approaches to develop data quality rules, and testing methodologies.
Define the strategic roadmap and technical vision in collaboration with key stakeholders.
