DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a dynamic, customer-obsessed, and innovative Handbags, Footwear, and Accessories Associate Designer to join our Amazon Private Brands team.

In this role, you will be accountable for building product, in partnership with Designers and the Design Manager, for Amazon's Women’s, Men’s, and Kids’ core brands. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for premium and contemporary design details. They will have experience in handbag or footwear development and have a history of working directly with vendors and factories. Proficiency in digital design tools is necessary, along with a readiness to adopt new technologies and data inputs to accelerate and improve development without compromising quality.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a proven ability to contribute to cohesive, on-brand products across multiple non-apparel categories with exceptional attention to detail. This hands-on role requires high judgment, executing against brand tenants, and proactive collaboration. This role will work cross-functionally with Business Managers, Product Developers, and Supply Chain partners to ensure products meet aesthetic, quality, and cost standards while exceeding customer expectations.

Key job responsibilities


• Work samples online or in PDF format, including creative and technical specifications
• On-site attendance in the Santa Monica, CA office five days/week
• Occasional domestic and international travel

Primary Responsibilities:

• Sketching and creating product specifications
• Data input into Tech Packs, BOMs and PLM
• Sample tracking, organization, and filing
• Analyze data inputs and conduct research to create customer-centric product solutions
• Ensure cross-functional alignment through clear communication with internal stakeholders
• Proactively incorporate emerging technologies to refine the product creation process
• Elevate standards for design, product quality, and customer satisfaction
• Understand business drivers and performance to continually identify opportunities to positively affect the product assortment and customer experience

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience working with a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Experience in prototyping
- Bachelors degree or equivalent industry experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Prior Design experience working with a major US or International retailer

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $71,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $153,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
