This role focuses on the design, fabrication, and iteration of prototypes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Unlike a traditional product engineering role, this position requires agility, creativity, and a strong hands-on approach to rapidly explore and refine new concepts. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial design, mechanical and electrical prototyping, 3D modeling, and fabrication techniques, with a passion for pushing the boundaries of hardware development.

Minimum Qualifications
Work on prototype development and modification, from concept ideation to physical realization, including adapting and improving off-the-shelf robotic systems, leveraging advanced fabrication techniques.
Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent) for detailed design and mechanical modeling.
Operate and maintain 3D printers, CNC machines, laser cutters, and other rapid prototyping equipment.
Work with various materials (metals, plastics, composites) and fabrication methods (milling, welding, additive manufacturing, etc.).
Integrate electronics and embedded systems into prototypes, including PCB design, sensor integration, and microcontroller programming.
Collaborate with industrial designers, software engineers, and research teams to create functional and aesthetically refined prototypes.
Iterate quickly based on user feedback, technical constraints, and functional requirements.
Document designs, processes, and test results to streamline future developments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with robotics, mechatronics, or hardware/software integration.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes for transitioning prototypes to production.
Familiarity with industrial design principles and human-centered design.
Programming experience in Python, C++, or embedded firmware development.
Experience working in a research or innovation-focused team.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $205,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
