Minimum Qualifications

  • Work on prototype development and modification, from concept ideation to physical realization, including adapting and improving off-the-shelf robotic systems, leveraging advanced fabrication techniques.
  • Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent) for detailed design and mechanical modeling.
  • Operate and maintain 3D printers, CNC machines, laser cutters, and other rapid prototyping equipment.
  • Work with various materials (metals, plastics, composites) and fabrication methods (milling, welding, additive manufacturing, etc.).
  • Integrate electronics and embedded systems into prototypes, including PCB design, sensor integration, and microcontroller programming.
  • Collaborate with industrial designers, software engineers, and research teams to create functional and aesthetically refined prototypes.
  • Iterate quickly based on user feedback, technical constraints, and functional requirements.
  • Document designs, processes, and test results to streamline future developments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with robotics, mechatronics, or hardware/software integration.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes for transitioning prototypes to production.
  • Familiarity with industrial design principles and human-centered design.
  • Programming experience in Python, C++, or embedded firmware development.
  • Experience working in a research or innovation-focused team.
