Microsoft Ads Fraud Detection operates at the intersection of Security and Machine learning. We design and develop fraud detection algorithms that run at webscale in real time and protect billions of dollars of revenue from fraudsters. Our algorithms need to run in a high precision/ high recall operating point.
We are always in a race with fraudsters to design new ways to detect fraud.
This role is available in Mountain View, CA or Redmond, WA.
As an Applied Scientist II-Web Security Research on our team, you'll be at the forefront of web security research. You will develop a deep understanding of advertising eco-system at an individual request level and exploit that knowledge systematically to identify new signals that can set fraudsters apart. You will investigate complex and evolving attacks and develop signals to detect them. Given the large surface area that needs to be protected, you will create tools to allow you to scale and drive high impact.

Applied Sciences IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
