Description

You will develop and specify advanced 5G radio network features for Radio Resource Management and physical-layer behavior, including scheduling, link adaptation, and control-channel radio resource management. The role includes building network-level software simulations to analyze performance, driving improvements to products and simulation tools, and supporting system verification, troubleshooting, and deployment into customer networks. You will also contribute to 5G standards progress with 6G readiness and support innovation activities such as patent disclosures.

Responsibilities

• Perform systems studies in Radio Resource Management (scheduling, link adaptation, time-critical communication, control channel resource management)

• Specify system features, functions, test cases, algorithms, use cases, and parameter settings; manage interactions with legacy functionality

• Develop network-level software simulations for performance analysis of 5G features and algorithms

• Drive continuous improvements of products, simulation tools, and feature flow

• Lead solution package (SP) studies and participate in system trouble report teams

• Support 5G system verification and analyze test results

• Support customer troubleshooting and deployment of new 5G products/features into live networks

• Contribute to 5G standards (6G readiness) and innovation/IP activities

• Collaborate with cross-functional development and customer engagement teams worldwide

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or equivalent knowledge

• Valuable background in communications theory and digital signal processing

• Work experience in relevant areas such as 5G NR

• Good knowledge of 5G NR mobile communication systems, especially Physical Layer and Radio Resource Management

• Product development knowledge (preferably Lean and Agile)

• Software development skills (Java, C, C++) and experience with simulation environments/tools (MATLAB is an asset)

• Analytical approach with interest in creativity and innovation
