Description

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems that power Bookings. Collaborate with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver new features across web, iOS, and Android while improving APIs. Participate in planning and reviews and continuously optimize performance, observability, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems supporting the Bookings product
• Collaborate with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver new features and improve APIs across web, iOS, and Android
• Participate in technical planning, code reviews, and design discussions to ensure clean, testable, and maintainable code
• Continuously optimize performance, ensure observability, and uphold high reliability standards
• Contribute to shaping the technical roadmap for the Sell Online platform

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience
• Fluent in Kotlin (or Java) and deep experience with Spring Boot
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures (e.g., CQRS, Event Sourcing)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions
• Experience with observability tools such as Grafana or Honeycomb
• Collaborative mindset and ability to mentor peers
• Enjoy delivering real value to merchants
