Description

You will collaborate with an international Agile delivery team on a project for critical infrastructure. The work includes building scalable application-level encryption and a tenant-isolated key management approach that prevents sensitive customer data from reaching the persistence layer. You will develop Go-based sidecar and gateway components and implement gRPC interfaces for low-latency inter-service communication, integrating cryptography fundamentals and SAP BTP (KMS) services.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable application-level data encryption for customer-specific solutions to enhance platform security

• Build a hybrid protection system preventing sensitive data from reaching the persistence layer, ensuring tenant isolation and efficient key management

• Create and evolve sidecar components and a central gateway service using Go

• Design and implement gRPC APIs for reliable, low-latency service-to-service communication

• Use SAP BTP services (especially KMS) in the solution architecture

• Work with relational databases (RDBMS) for central metadata management and encrypted key material storage

Requirements

• Practical Go (Golang) software development experience

• Experience designing and implementing gRPC APIs for inter-service communication

• Solid Kubernetes knowledge (sidecar pattern, stateful services, deployments, API extensions)

• Basic knowledge of Istio (service mesh)

• Practical understanding of cryptography fundamentals (DEKs, KEKs, envelope encryption, secure key caching)

• Experience with cryptographic APIs/SDKs

• RDBMS experience

• Basic observability knowledge

• English proficiency at B2–C1

• Availability ASAP; max notice period is up to end of month (up to one month)
