Description

We are looking for a Senior Android Developer with practical experience implementing and testing Accessibility solutions in native Android applications. The project focuses on developing the app and optimizing its accessibility, especially for users using assistive technologies such as TalkBack. You should have independently implemented accessibility solutions in production apps, not only knowledge of standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize a native Android application using Kotlin
• Implement and improve Accessibility in the application
• Configure semantics for UI components, accessibility descriptions, roles, and UI states
• Optimize focus handling, navigation, text scaling, and touch target areas
• Test app accessibility using TalkBack and Android Accessibility tools
• Validate compliance of solutions with accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1/2.2

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of commercial experience in native Android development
• Very good knowledge of Kotlin
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and/or Android Views
• Extensive practical experience implementing Accessibility in native Android apps
• Very good knowledge of TalkBack and experience testing applications using it
• Knowledge of Android Accessibility APIs and Compose Semantics
• Experience configuring content descriptions, roles, states, and focus management
• Knowledge of accessible navigation, text scaling, and appropriate touch target sizes
• Practical knowledge of accessibility standards (preferably WCAG 2.1/2.2)
• Communicative English
