Description

Seeking a Senior/Lead Go Developer to contribute to an open-source engagement focused on Kueue, helping run and manage batch workloads on Kubernetes clusters. You will work on both open-source contributions and SRE activities to expand Kueue’s feature set, including advanced MultiKueue multi-cluster dispatching, topology-aware scheduling for distributed AI/ML workloads, and deeper integrations (including ray.io). Responsibilities include designing and implementing solutions and contributing to upstream projects to address complex batch scheduling bottlenecks.

Responsibilities

• Understand and analyze client needs
• Design and professionally articulate solutions
• Own implementation and open source contribution
• Communicate effectively using official Kubernetes SIG channels and teams
• Collaborate with upstream teams to expand Kueue’s feature set
• Contribute to core upstream projects to solve complex batch scheduling bottlenecks
• Use creative, out-of-the-box thinking to drive project success

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Excellent knowledge of Kubernetes, including Custom Resource Definitions, controller-runtime, and debugging cluster issues
• Proficiency in Go
• Understanding of Cloud and Container architecture
• Proficiency in using AI tools to accelerate development and problem-solving
• Solid understanding of Git and GitHub workflows
• Background in Systems engineering (Linux)
• English proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher

Nice to have

• Hands-on expertise with batch scheduling technologies and frameworks (ray.io, KubeRay, Spark, JobSet, MPIJob)
• Skills in Python and ML engineering
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform
