Description

You will be responsible for the stable, secure, and scalable operation of a cloud and Kubernetes-based AI/Bot platform on STACKIT. The role includes building and evolving cluster environments and GitOps/CI-CD deployment processes, ensuring monitoring and reliable incident handling. You will also help implement security and compliance requirements, especially around IAM/RBAC and relevant standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate and optimize the existing STACKIT-based Kubernetes/AI-Bot platform with internal teams and external partners
• Establish and continuously improve operational processes, documentation, and knowledge for steady run operations
• Design, build, and evolve Kubernetes/STACKIT-SKE environments (cluster structure, namespaces/permissions, Ingress/Load Balancing, resource concepts, secrets management, GitOps deployment)
• Develop and automate deployment and operations using CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and GitOps (e.g., Terraform and Argo CD)
• Ensure platform reliability through monitoring, logging, and alerting
• Coordinate and provide technical support for incident management
• Contribute to security and compliance implementations (IAM/RBAC; DSGVO, ISO 27001, C5)

Requirements

• Completed IT training or degree in (business) informatics or comparable background
• Solid experience operating Kubernetes platforms, ideally managed Kubernetes such as STACKIT SKE, AKS, EKS, GKE, or OpenShift
• Extensive knowledge of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, container technologies, automated deployments, Infrastructure as Code, and GitOps (e.g., Terraform, Argo CD, Helm, Kustomize)
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting; ideally experience operating central platform/data services such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes and cloud security, including IAM/RBAC, Network Policies, secrets management, TLS/certificates, container/image security, audit logging, and least-privilege
• Proven structured troubleshooting for complex cloud/Kubernetes environments; strong problem-solving skills
• Experience working with internal teams and external partners
• Independent, solution-oriented approach and interest in improving operational standards
• Very good German and good English proficiency (written and spoken)
