Description

You will define work packages for both software and hardware, implement technical solutions in automation equipment development projects, and contribute to customer-focused automation support. The role includes qualifying new hardware and software components from prototype to series, building test stands for components and sensors, and developing internal processes to increase handler-system efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Specify work packages for software and hardware and implement technical solutions for plant/equipment development projects.
• Support specification and scheduling of complete trades when outsourcing to external vendors.
• Maintain long-term relationships with suppliers and development partners.
• Provide expert support for automation issues for customers and develop tailored customer solutions.
• Work closely with the Service team and Beta customers in projects.
• Develop and create internal processes to improve the efficiency of the handler system.
• Onboard into new topics and monitor new market trends.
• Qualify new hardware and software components from prototype to production series.
• Build test setups to investigate new components and sensors.
• Work with Windows and Linux operating systems in administration.
• Implement software requirements and create corresponding unit and regression tests.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, Computer Science, or Software Engineering.
• Multiple years of proven experience in software and hardware projects.
• Strong Python scripting/programming skills and experience with AI-assisted software development.
• Practical experience with robot vision.
• Knowledge of common current software protocols.
• Structured, analytical, and goal-oriented working style.
• Self-motivated, reliable, resilient, and able to work independently; initiative and creative problem-solving are a plus.
• Ability/willingness to travel to a limited extent.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Fluent English; German preferred.
• Ideally experience with manipulators and robot systems in the semiconductor industry and collaboration with partners and suppliers.
