Description

Develop and modify COBOL applications in a Synon / CA 2E / COOL:2E environment and on IBM i (iSeries). You will adjust application data models, screens, functions, and business rules, analyze and update CL / CLLE programs and batch processes, and work with DB2 for IBM i using SQL. You’ll also diagnose and fix issues in test and production while preserving existing business logic.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify applications in Synon / CA 2E / COOL:2E and COBOL

• Build and extend features based on an existing application model

• Update data models, screens, application functions, and business rules

• Analyze and modify CL / CLLE programs and support batch (batch jobs) processes

• Work with DB2 for IBM i: write SQL queries and analyze/update data

• Diagnose and resolve defects in test and production environments

• Extend existing applications while maintaining current business logic

Requirements

• Good knowledge of Synon / CA 2E / COOL:2E with practical experience creating and developing applications

• Knowledge of application modeling and code-generation mechanisms in CA 2E

• Good knowledge of COBOL / ILE COBOL, including creating, modifying, and debugging programs

• Experience working on IBM i / iSeries

• Knowledge of CL / CLLE and ability to work with batch processes

• Strong knowledge of DB2 for IBM i and very strong SQL skills

• Knowledge of Query/400 (IBM Query for i)
