Introduction & Summary

We are seeking an experienced IBMi Application Operations Expert to join our team in Poland. This role requires over 10 years of experience with IBMi/AS 400 and Cobol, focusing on application development and support. The ideal candidate will exhibit excellent communication skills and the ability to document and implement new integrations while contributing to the design and architecture of major system upgrades.

Main Responsibilities

Perform development on IU IT systems (core banking, payment engines).
Conduct unit and functional testing for internal/vendor software updates.
Collaborate with various teams to meet strategic targets.
Write and maintain code in Cobol and RPG.
Integrate IU systems with related technologies.
Document business and functional requirements.
Participate in all aspects of the SDLC.
Improve delivery pipelines and reduce technical debt.
Provide L2 and L3 support for incidents.

Key Requirements

10+ years of experience with IBMi/AS 400 / Cobol.
Proven ability to document, present, and implement new integrations.
Ability to set high standards and contribute to detailed designs.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Experience working with various vendors and systems.
ITIL certification.
RPG experience is considered a big plus.

Nice to Have

Mainframe development experience.
Development experience in Java and .Net.
Proficiency in monitoring tools like Grafana.
Experience with logging tools such as Splunk.
Database experience with DB2.

This position is based in Poland, specifically in Gdańsk, and requires proficiency in English. The selected candidate should be prepared to engage in strategic initiatives and major upgrades within the IBMi Application Operations team.
