Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience with full-stack development, including experience with prototyping, and programming in Java or Kotlin.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
  • Experience building and developing scaled full stack web, backend, and mobile applications.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work alongside area tech leads and product managers to recognize team requirements and pinpoint growth opportunities for the product roadmap.
  • Coordinate with engineering and product groups in Google One and Photos to convert long-term and immediate needs into a cohesive technical plan while driving alignment.
  • Architect solutions capable of handling the massive scale of G1 and Photos. Maintain the flexibility to new architectures and frameworks as the team’s requirements evolve.
  • Partner with platform tech leads to drive the roadmap forward and help shape the architecture for several associated teams.
  • Provide guidance to engineers within and outside the immediate team, while rapidly prototyping new concepts to drive business results.
