Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in technical program management or a related role within a software development environment.
  • 10 years of experience in people management, including experience managing managers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing complex cross-functional relationships across distinct business units or product areas.
  • Experience driving improvements in execution, velocity, and quality.
  • Technical fluency in AI/LLM development cycles and experience managing programs in high-ambiguity AI environments.
  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift to capture emerging technical and strategic opportunities.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale organizations and cultivating a culture of high performance, strategic impact, and professional growth.

We are a passionate group dedicated to delivering a step-change in user experience across consumer, enterprise, and developer segments. The Technical Program Management (T/PgM) organization is a critical partner in this mission, and we are looking for a transformational leader to guide this team and shape the future of how we build and ship products.

As the Director of Technical Program Management for Chrome & Web Ecosystem, you will have a direct influence on how we navigate the AI platform shift. You will lead a large, globally distributed organization of program managers, continuing to evolve the function's strategic impact, ensuring the team operates as a critical partner that empowers the Chrome organization to ship with greater focus, velocity, and quality.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $272,000-$383,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a TPgM organization. Drive a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations for excellence and ensuring the team is focused on our most critical engineering and product priorities.
  • Drive the execution strategy for critical AI launches and top-priority initiatives. 
  • Build the trust and mechanisms required to operate as a proactive, high-leverage partner. Work with VPs of Engineering and Product Management to identify risks early, rebalance resources, and ensure commitment integrity.
  • Oversee Chrome's release management. Lead initiatives to adopt AI tooling and optimize core workflows (e.g., Taskflow, bug management, portfolio management) to increase legibility and enable faster decision-making and launches.
