Java Software Engineer

This role offers a hybrid model, with 2-3 days per week working from the client's office in Krakow.


Responsibilities

  • Migrate PETL pipelines to modern, scalable solutions

  • Support and maintain existing and legacy integration systems, ensuring stability and performance

  • Collaborate with internal teams to define and implement improvements for end-to-end solutions and support experiences

  • Apply best development practices, including technical design, solution development, system configuration, and thorough testing

  • Write clean, modular, and maintainable code, with proper documentation and issue resolution throughout the development lifecycle


Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in Java/Kotlin for backend development and data engineering

  • Proven ability to design and integrate APIs

  • Proficiency in SQL, data pipelines, and protocol buffers

  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT solutions and REST API development

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)


Nice to have

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Familiarity with the full system implementation life cycle (analyze, design, build, test, implement, support)

  • Experience with automated testing across unit, integration, and end-to-end levels

  • Experience with web application development, Unix/Linux environments, and microservices architecture

  • Understanding of dependency injection, protocol buffers, and data processing pipelines

  • Exposure to Angular and TypeScript for front-end development
