NVIDIA's KGMON (Kaggle Grandmasters of NVIDIA) team is seeking a Senior Applied Research Scientist passionate about AI agents with proven skills in applying AI research to practical problems. Our team is a unique group of world-class competitive machine learning practitioners, including multiple Kaggle Grandmasters, who tackle NVIDIA's most challenging applied AI problems. We drive innovation in agentic AI, develop winning solutions for top-tier ML competitions, and apply leading-edge techniques to real-world applications.

In this position, you will collaborate with a group of applied researchers enthusiastic about agentic AI, addressing some of the industry's most difficult problems using agents. You will confront challenges in evaluation, solution architecture, data science, and agent modeling.

What you'll be doing:

  • Drive competitive ML excellence by competing in top-tier machine learning competitions (Kaggle, NeurIPS, CVPR challenges). Share winning techniques with NVIDIA solution and product teams. Also, share internal guidelines.

  • Engage with the ML community by sharing insights through Kaggle notebooks, technical blogs, social media, conference presentations, and open-source contributions. Represent NVIDIA as a leader with a point of view in competitive ML and agentic AI.

  • Collaborate with product, research, and engineering teams to develop brand new solutions.

  • Work with external customers on real-world problems by applying SOTA techniques using NVIDIA technology.

What we need to see:

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent experience with 5+ years of applied ML/AI work.

  • Demonstrated success in competitive ML: Kaggle competition master or higher, high rankings in significant ML contests, or comparable proven expertise in competitive data science.

  • Excellent communication skills: ability to write clear technical documentation, papers, and blog posts; active engagement in ML communities; and comfort presenting to diverse audiences.

  • Self-directed and collaborative: proven ability to work autonomously on ambiguous problems while effectively partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver results.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Kaggle Grandmaster status with gold medals in NLP/LLM contests, or several top-10 placements in prominent ML competitions.

  • Published research in top-tier venues (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP) on topics related to LLMs, agents, or ML algorithms.

  • Experience with NVIDIA AI platforms: NeMo, NIMs, TensorRT-LLM, RAPIDS.
