Senior DataOps Cloud Engineer

Senior • Remote

Warsaw, Poland

Job Description

  • Design and run enterprise-grade Azure cloud platforms with a strong bias toward data workloads (analytics, pipelines, lakehouses—not CSVs on desktops).

  • Lead data platform engineering: CI/CD and IaC for Databricks, data services, and supporting cloud infrastructure.

  • Administer and harden Azure Databricks (workspaces, clusters, security, cost controls) like someone who’s broken it before—and fixed it.

  • Build and operate containerized data services using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS), keeping pipelines scalable, observable, and drama-free.

  • Serve as trusted DevOps authority for data-heavy client environments, translating analytics ambitions into production-grade reality.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in DevOps / Cloud Engineering, with serious exposure to data platforms and analytics workloads.

  • Deep hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure, especially services supporting data engineering and platform scalability.

  • Strong experience with Databricks platform administration (security, networking, automation—running notebooks doesn’t count).

  • Proficiency in IaC (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python).

  • Solid knowledge of containers & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS) for data-centric services and tooling.

  • Onshore contractor, aligned to EST time zone, fluent in both technical English and mild DevOps sarcasm.
