About the Role

We are supporting the Galileo Platform team in securing a highly skilled Python Engineer to work on RAG as a Service – a reusable, scalable solution enabling Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) for internal applications.

This is a mission-critical and high-impact role at the forefront of GenAI adoption within the organization.

Responsibilities:

Architect & Build scalable and secure RAG services using Python and AWS Serverless technologies.
Develop APIs: Create and manage RESTful APIs for the service with performance and security in mind.
Infrastructure as Code: Define and manage AWS infrastructure via AWS CDK.
Data Pipelines: Ingest, parse, and embed unstructured documents (PDF, DOCX, HTML) for semantic search.
CI/CD: Maintain automation pipelines with GitLab CI.
Monitoring & Optimization: Implement logging, monitoring, and cost tracking (CloudWatch, Grafana).
Cross-team collaboration: Work with engineering, data science, and AI platform teams to ensure alignment and quality delivery.
Business Value: Deliver tools that empower internal users and drive innovation.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of software engineering experience (Python, backend systems, production-grade apps)
3+ years hands-on with AWS (Lambda, Step Functions, IAM, S3, DynamoDB, VPC, API Gateway, CloudFormation/CDK)
RESTful API design and implementation (high-throughput and secure)
DevOps skills (Docker, CI/CD pipelines – ideally GitLab CI)
GenAI & NLP knowledge: Strong understanding of RAG principles, embeddings, vector search, reranking
Hands-on with frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex
Proactive ownership attitude and strong communication skills in English

Nice to Have

Modern Python (type hints, uv, Pydantic)
Advanced document parsing (complex PDF/doc/file extraction)
Experience in GxP-compliant or regulated environments
Familiarity with cross-cloud tools (e.g., Azure AI Search)
Experience with AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude)
