For our Client we are currently looking for Candidates for the position of:

z/OS System Programmer

Location: remote / Poland

Branch: project in IT sector

Job type: B2B (with Hays Poland)

Length: long-term cooperation, first contract for 12 months

Rate: 150-180 PLN/h net on B2B

Start date: ASAP, max 1 month notice period

Working hours: Business working hours, on calls (one week per month)

Remote work: 100% remote

Methodology: Scrum

z/OS, SMP/E, REXX, JCL, Sysplex, Parmlib, Proclib, JES2

Project:

Project for a large international client from the IT sector

What will you do:

Software lifecycle management: installation, upgrade, maintenance and replacement of software
Exploring new product features which can benefit the customer
Third line support in case of software errors
Assist customers in using the software products
Incident, change and problem handling
Configuration and customization
Setup of parameters
Setup of customer dependent parts (e.g. user administration, product calendar, authorization matrix)
Documenting
Communication with customers and vendors
Participation/contribution to technical projects

What we expect from you:

Minimum 8 years of commercial experience with z/OS

In depth knowledge and understanding ofz/OSand related product software z/OS
Knowledge of software installation(SMP/E)
Programming knowledge ofREXXandJCL
Knowledge of Sysplex, Parmlib, Proclib, and JES2

Excellent communication skills in English

What would be a plus:

Higher education in the field of computer science, mathematics or related
Understanding of VTAM, TCP/IP, Enterprise Extenderz/OS
IOCD/HCD configuration
Knowledge of subsystems: DB2, IMS, CICS
Dump analysis
Performance tuning – RMF, SMF, Omegamon
z/VM, zLinux
Virtualization technologies – zCX
Mainframe modernization – ZOWE, Ansible
Experience in migration projects – z/OS upgrade to z/OS 3.1, Sysplex migration
WebSphere MQ for z/OS
z/OSMF – configuration and maintenance
Security management – RACF and Top Secret
