Information Architect – BI/Data Warehouse

Summary: The Information Architect role is crucial for redefining how data informs decision-making within the organisation by managing the modelling, profiling, and transformation of data into a cohesive enterprise analytical model.



Main Responsibilities:


  • Analyse and profile data from landed sources, understanding content, structure, and quality.

  • Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support analytical reporting.

  • Define data mappings and transformations from source systems into the enterprise model.

  • Implement transformation logic and insert-only processing using Databricks notebooks and SQL/PySpark.

  • Ensure full version control, reference consistency, and data reconciliation across the pipeline.

  • Collaborate closely with peers and business stakeholders to align models with real-world operations.

  • Contribute to documentation and design artefacts that clarify logic, mappings, and modelling rationale.

  • Promote visibility of data quality, origin, and significance through integrated profiling and validation techniques.


Key Requirements:


  • Information Management expertise.

  • Strong background in Data Modelling (Conceptual, Logical, Physical).

  • Data Profiling & Analysis experience.

  • Skills in Data Mapping & Transformation.

  • Familiarity with 3NF-style or other consistent data modelling paradigms

  • ETL/ELT Processing capabilities.

  • Process Reconciliation experience.

  • Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADGF) and Databricks.

  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL

  • Notebook scripting (e.g., PySpark or Spark)

  • Experience with insert-only, versioned data architectures
