Solution Architect

Andersen is hiring an Solution Architect in Germany to design and integrate scalable AI systems, supporting a major digital-transformation program and enabling modern, reliable AI-driven services. 

 

The customer is a large international technology provider delivering end-to-end digital solutions for enterprise-level organizations. The company focuses on IT consulting, cloud services, cybersecurity, and managed operations, supporting clients across various industries with complex digital-transformation needs. With decades of experience, the customer emphasizes innovation, reliability, and high security standards. 

 

The project is centered on two key initiatives. The first focuses on a modern digital education platform that transforms how institutions manage learning processes, student data, and academic services through scalable and secure IT solutions. The second involves a national public-service digital ecosystem aimed at modernization, process automation, and delivering secure, citizen-centric services supported by interoperable, compliant architectures. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Analyzing existing systems, applications, and tools within the public-sector environment and defining requirements for new or modernised solutions.  

  • Designing system architectures and business-driven IT concepts, including service-oriented models, integration patterns, and reference data structures.  

  • Developing architectural paradigms and ensuring consistent use of shared components, standards, and interfaces across departments and agencies.  

  • Coordinating architectural decisions with stakeholders and guiding their implementation throughout the organisation.  

  • Supporting the evaluation, selection, and design of IT solutions, system landscapes, and platforms, including mainframe, client-server, database, and middleware environments.  

  • Preparing documentation, architectural blueprints, and recommendations to ensure long-term sustainability, interoperability, and compliance with public-sector regulations. 

 

Must-haves: 

  • Experience working as a System Analyst or IT Architect in complex enterprise or public-sector environments for 5+ years.  

  • Strong ability to analyse existing system landscapes, applications, and tools and define functional and technical requirements for new or modernised systems.  

  • Hands-on experience designing IT architectures, including service-oriented concepts, integration patterns, shared components, and reference data models.  

  • Solid understanding of system architecture layers (mainframe, client-server, databases, middleware, APIs) and their interactions.  

  • Practical experience coordinating architectural decisions with cross-department stakeholders and guiding the implementation of architectural standards across an organisation.  

  • Ability to evaluate technical solutions, assess architectural alternatives, and provide recommendations based on interoperability, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.  

  • Experience preparing architectural documentation, blueprints, and guidelines in accordance with public-sector standards.  

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.  

  • Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above. 

  • Level of German – from Intermediate+ and above.
