2nd line Application Engineer with RedHat Linux

We are looking for a 2nd Line Application Engineer with solid expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux to join our growing team. This role focuses on ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of critical business applications by providing advanced technical support and troubleshooting.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 2nd line support for business-critical applications running on Red Hat Linux environments.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents to minimize downtime and ensure service continuity.

  • Support application deployments, configurations, and maintenance tasks.

  • Collaborate with 1st line support, infrastructure, and development teams to ensure a stable and secure environment.

  • Identify root causes of issues and propose long-term solutions and improvements.

  • Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of incidents, procedures, and configurations.

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or other Linux distributions.

  • Good understanding of system administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation and maintenance tasks.

  • Experience working in application support environments (incident, problem, and change management).

  • Familiarity with system monitoring and alerting tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

  • Possession of EU/NATO security clearance or Polish citizenship and the ability to undergo verification in order to obtain EU/NATO security clearance.

 

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Oracle WebLogic, Apache Tomcat, or other middleware technologies.

  • Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.

  • Knowledge of IT security best practices in Linux environments.
