Team Lead, Data Engineering & BI

Seeking a Data Engineering & BI Team Lead to coordinate a complementary team crafting data solutions. This role blends hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring high-quality delivery across data pipelines, models, and dashboards. You will collaborate closely with collaborators across product, analytics, and business functions to drive data-driven decision making.


What You'll Do 

  • Lead a team of Data Engineers and BI Developers, encouraging collaboration, mentoring, and career growth.

  • Lead workload distribution, sprint planning, and delivery timelines.

  • Lead all aspects of the development of robust data pipelines, transformations, and cloud-based architectures (Snowflake, dbt, Airflow).

  • Make sure BI dashboards and reporting solutions (Power BI or similar software) meet business needs and uphold consistency in indicators/metrics.

  • Define and enforce protocols in coding, testing, documentation, and performance optimization.

  • Collaborate with collaborators to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

  • Maintain a balance between hands-on contribution and strategic leadership.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, BI, or analytics development.

  • At least 2 years in a leadership role within data-focused teams (leading engineers or BI developers).

  • Solid expertise in SQL and data modeling.

  • Proficient in using up-to-date data stack tools such as Snowflake, dbt, and Airflow (or comparable options).

  • Strong knowledge of BI tools (Power BI preferred, Tableau/Looker a plus).

  • Familiarity with Python or other programming languages for data workflows.

  • Demonstrated success in prioritizing tasks, collaborating with various parties, and achieving goals in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Redis, Celery, or distributed data workflows.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD, version control, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Industry background in gaming, entertainment, or large-scale data environments.
