Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain reusable CI/CD templates and pipeline components in GitLab to simplify and automate software delivery.

• Embed security into every stage of the development lifecycle, including automated testing and pipeline security controls.

• Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles with Terraform to provision and configure cloud environments in a consistent and automated way.

• Work closely with developers, QA engineers, and IT teams to ensure smooth operation of development and production systems.

Strategic and Analytical Focus

• Design scalable and resilient platform solutions that meet both current and future business needs.

• Continuously identify bottlenecks and operational challenges, implementing automation to reduce manual tasks and improve efficiency.

• Enhance developer tools and workflows to maximize productivity and reduce overhead.

Required Experience

• Strong expertise in building and managing CI/CD pipelines and repositories with GitLab, including use of GitLab APIs.

• Solid hands-on knowledge of containerization technologies, especially Docker and Kubernetes.

• Proven background as a Platform Engineer or DevSecOps professional, with deep experience in Linux-based environments.

• Proficiency in Terraform for creating reusable templates and automating cloud infrastructure provisioning.

Tools and Frameworks

• Familiarity with modern scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK/EFK.

• Integration of secrets management, automated security checks, and code quality tools within CI/CD pipelines.

Architecture and Design

• Ability to design scalable, maintainable CI/CD pipelines that enable secure deployments.

• Experience conducting architecture reviews and maturity assessments, and defining best practices for platform deployment.

• Strong focus on automation and efficiency, finding creative ways to streamline processes.

• Innovative mindset for leveraging tools to eliminate repetitive work and empower development teams.

• Excellent English communication skills, capable of explaining complex DevSecOps concepts to both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Background & Certifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

• At least one of the following certifications:

  • Certified DevSecOps Professional (CDP)

  • DevSecOps Practitioner

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional

  • Microsoft DevOps Engineer Expert

  • Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer

• Only EU citizenship!

• A 5-day onboarding in Luxembourg is necessary, during which the equipment is handed over, the team is introduced and procedures are introduced.

• The position is remote but you have to be able to handle occasional short on-site appearances in Luxembourg.

• Ready to start work without unnecessary delay.

• Ability to obtain security clearance.
