Senior DevOps - Aviation Platform Engineering

Atos is looking for a Senior DevOps to join our Platform Engineering team. You will design, build, and operate secure, scalable, enterprise-grade platforms supporting aviation systems. This role is critical for enabling air traffic management (ATM) applications to run securely, reliably, and efficiently across OpenShift, Azure IaaS, and related ecosystems.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Kubernetes/OpenShift components and custom operators.

  • Build CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitOps) and automate with Terraform and Ansible.

  • Integrate APIs, scripts, and self-service tools for developers.

  • Deploy/manage PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, MinIO on OpenShift/Azure.

  • Implement monitoring and alerting (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).

  • Ensure backup, failover, and disaster recovery.

  • Manage IAM and secrets with Keycloak, Okta, Vault.

  • Configure NGINX, API Gateway, and secure service exposure.

  • Support messaging/data flows via Solace PubSub+ and Kafka.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–8 years of professional experience in cloud-native/DevOps roles including tooling expertise.

  • Strong experience in OpenShift/Kubernetes (operator SDKs, Helm, ArgoCD, cluster management, GO programming language).

  • Deep understanding and expertise in Azure IaaS, CI/CD (Jenkins, ArgoCD), IaC (Terraform, Ansible).

  • Advanced proficiency with Vault, Keycloak, Okta,

  • Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), data services (Elasticsearch, MinIO).

  • Familiarity with Solace, Kafka, Linux, networking.

  • Knowledge of NGINX and API Gateway technologies

  • Solid background in Terraform, Ansible, and containerized application delivery.

  • Understanding of observability stacks (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana) and log/metric correlation.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Azure Administrator Associate or Azure DevOps certification

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Developer (CKAD) – nice to have

  • HashiCorp Certified: Vault Associate – nice to have.

  • Experience in aviation, air traffic management, or other mission-critical domains – nice to have.
