Summary:

The QA / Compliance Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring that data quality and compliance standards align with SOC 1 requirements, bridging the gap between data quality assurance (QA) and compliance within the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Test Strategy: Develop a data-quality framework addressing completeness, consistency, and referential integrity across 50 RDS sources.

• Compliance Verification: Map SOC 1 control objectives to AWS services (logging, access, backups) and manage an evidence matrix.

• Automation: Create lightweight data-validation scripts using Python/SQL and integrate QA checks with CI/CD pipelines.

• Audit Readiness: Prepare test records, traceability matrices, and deliverables for internal QA and client CIO review.

• Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback on defect patterns to DevOps and Data Engineering teams for prevention strategies.

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years of QA or Compliance testing experience in data-platform projects (preferably AWS).

• Familiarity with SOC 1, SOC 2, or GxP validation frameworks.

• Strong skills in SQL and Python for automated data verifications.

• Experience with AWS tools such as CloudTrail, Config, or Athena for evidence validation.

• Excellent documentation skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in regulated data environments.

• Ability to explain validation of controls comprehensively, beyond just functional tests.
