Java Tech Lead

We are looking for an experienced Java Tech Lead to join an agile product team (Squad) within a global organization in the car rental and leasing sector. You will play a key technical leadership role, ensuring solution quality, driving modern engineering practices, and supporting the team in delivering high-value digital products. Expected technology background is Java Backend + Angular or Java Backend + RabbitMQ & Kafka or Java Backend + Cloud (Azure).

Project information:

• Budget: b2b 150 - 180 net per hour

• Project length: November 2025 -December 2026, with an option for extension

• Project language: Polish & English

• Start date: ASAP

• Collaboration tools: Jira, Confluence, Teams, SharePoint, iObeya, Yellow, Digital Working

Project scope:

Ensure software quality & technical excellence

• Act as a senior technical member of the Squad, ensuring high-quality delivery

• Lead the technical design of products, ensuring alignment with architecture, operational needs, and IT standards

• Provide optimal IT solutions addressing business needs while maximizing product value

• Approve final solutions and raise alerts on risks or non-conformities

• Identify necessary DevOps tools, frameworks, and technologies

Lead development & architecture

• Design and develop components using Java-based microservices architecture

• Facilitate workshops, define assumptions, and create operational/technical macro-designs

• Guide the Squad in architectural choices in coordination with enterprise architects

• Ensure solutions meet security, continuity, performance, and integration requirements

• Analyse technical risks and propose mitigation strategies

Coach and support the team

• Mentor developers to grow their technical expertise

• Share knowledge to strengthen team efficiency and engineering culture

Drive Agile transformation

• Support continuous improvement of Agile methods across the delivery cycle

• Actively participate in Agile rituals, including Agile@scale ceremonies

• Engage in Tech Lead communities on the entity and group level

Requirements:

• Strong background in Java development, application testing, architecture, and security

• Expertise in at least one stack: full-stack development with Angular or Java Backend + RabbitMQ & Kafka or Java Backend + Azure Cloud

• Experience designing microservices and complex distributed systems

• Familiarity with cybersecurity and risk analysis

• Understanding of digital platforms, APIs, and data flows

• Experience with Agile and DevOps practices

• Good command of English

• Strong teamwork and communication abilities

• Results-driven mindset with problem-solving attitude

• Ability to lead, inspire, and develop others

• Strong analytical skills and ability to handle transformation projects
