Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, specifically TypeScript or JavaScript, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
2 years of experience with front-end and user interface development using modern web frameworks such as Angular or React.
Experience testing, maintaining, or launching consumer-facing software products.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
2 years of experience with data structures, algorithms, and front-end performance optimization.
Experience with Modern Angular (Signals), Kotlin, or building applications on large-scale internal infrastructure.
Experience developing accessible technologies and translating complex Generative AI models into intuitive user interfaces.
Experience navigating ambiguity and working in a high-velocity, 0-to-1 project environment.

The Google Labs Generative Media team is a high-velocity group within Google dedicated to making creativity radically more accessible, useful, and playful. This team operates with a startup mentality, managing the company’s earliest and most exciting AI technologies, including breakout hits like MusicLM, ImageFx, Veo, and our latest launch, Google Flow.

As a Front-End Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the technical transformation of Google Flow, a professional-grade tool that empowers creators to generate high-quality video content using GenAI. You will be responsible for rewriting the core application from a custom React stack to a modern Google3/Angular architecture, ensuring the product is scalable, performant, and ready for deep ecosystem integrations.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Write product or system development code using TypeScript and Angular to build novel generative AI features for Google Flow.
Participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies for the migration to a Modern Angular codebase.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices in Angular development (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates, framework transitions, and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues within the UI/UX and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
