Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in electrical validation for hardware systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 8 years of experience with hardware design, debug, and bring-up, with display driving hardware.
  • Experience debugging display systems, especially with the hardware/software boundary, including using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other test equipment.

As a Senior Hardware Engineer on the Google Beam team, you will be a key player in designing, implementing, and delivering hardware systems for our next-generation products. You will drive hardware solutions from concept through production, ensuring robust designs that meet performance, efficiency, and reliability goals. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Gather system requirements, define architecture, and execute hardware design for advanced electronic systems, including but not limited to the compute platform of Google Beam.
  • Drive hardware system development from initial concept through high-volume production.
  • Lead the design, bring-up, and validation of hardware solutions, assisting with deployment and sustaining activities. Lead debug and root cause analysis of complex hardware issues in deployed systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, software, power, mechanical, thermal, validation, signal integrity, manufacturing, and external vendors to ensure robust system integration.
  • Partner closely with Firmware/Software Engineers to support the development and integration of firmware/software for SoC and embedded microcontrollers.
