Staff Software Engineer, Unified Traffic Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java or Go.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
  
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  
• 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.

Unified Traffic Engineering (UTE) is in charge of optimized routing and traffic load balancing for Google's global networks including B4. Network traffic engineering is a critical infrastructure service for Google. Our systems and infrastructure are responsible for delivering every network flow for Google and Google Cloud Platform services end-to-end, in accordance with network product definitions, in compliance with Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and business policies, and optimized for efficiency.
