Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience in web browsers or application security.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Experience programming in C++.
  • Experience developing web applications, or browser features for the web.
  • Experience with Large Language Models, Generative AI, and AI Agents.
  • Understanding of security considerations for web applications, and how AI agents uniquely challenge the status quo.

The Chrome Security AI Agent Security and Safety team is tasked with enabling the secure, safe, and responsible transformation of user experiences on the web with the power of Agentic AI. In this role, you will manage a team of software engineers to deliver on key safety and anti-abuse capabilities needed to secure Chrome users, and Google's systems against new attacks made possible with the introduction of AI capabilities into the browser. You will help shape the strategy and lead the delivery of safe agentic experiences with Gemini-in-Chrome, and lay the foundations of responsible agentic future for the web.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy development, roadmap planning, design, and development of safety and anti-abuse solutions for Gemini-in-Chrome, and other agentic interfaces on the web.
  • Lead design and development of anti-abuse solutions to protect Chrome user experiences as websites increasingly raise friction with CAPTCHA challenges in order to defend themselves against increasingly sophisticated AI-augmented attacks.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers towards designing and experimenting with novel, state-of-the-art security, and LLM-based engineering techniques.
  • Collaborate within Chrome Security, and across various AI teams within Google, to deliver solutions while working in a quickly evolving space. Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships for ecosystem-facing solutions.
  • Play a role in Chrome becoming a thought leader in the security of agentic web experiences, while keeping up with evolving threats, and sharing learnings externally with the web community and security researchers.
