The Production Engineering and Artificial Intelligence (AI) team, part of the Linux Platform Group in Microsoft’s Azure Core organization, plays a critical role in powering Azure Cloud. This team ensures that Azure operates with the latest versions of Linux software, delivering the highest quality and performance while serving as the gatekeeper for production software. The team achieves this at Azure scale through advanced automation and by leveraging artificial intelligence to reduce manual effort. Joining the Production Engineering and AI team offers an opportunity to contribute to the growth of Microsoft’s Azure Cloud infrastructure.
As a Software Engineer II on this team, you will design, develop, and maintain software and automation that ensure the continued performance of Linux operating systems and related software on Azure Cloud systems. You will collaborate with multiple teams and partners to deliver solutions that enhance reliability and efficiency. This role provides the chance to strengthen your expertise in cloud computing and Linux technologies while making a meaningful impact for millions of users worldwide.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
