Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with SoC Architecture or System Architecture.
  • 8 years of experience working with one or more of the following: ambient computing, audio processing, machine learning, image processing, or computer architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, with an emphasis on computer architecture.
  • 10 years of experience in ambient computing, audio processing, sensors processing, machine learning, wireless connectivity on Mobile/Embedded SoCs.
  • Experience driving system architecture decisions.
  • Experience with Android architecture, mobile SoC architecture, ML architecture, computer architecture, PPA trade-offs.
  • Experience driving system architecture decisions across software/hardware teams within an organization to build up the consensus and translate ideas into architecture specifications.
  • Knowledge of interactions between software and different IP blocks, general and special purpose compute units.

In this role, as part of the Silicon System Architecture team, you will leverage knowledge in ambient computing architecture, power, performance and area (PPA) trade-offs, and SoC audio/speech/ambient workloads analysis. You will be responsible for proposing and designing the architecture specification for innovative solutions, working with design and software implementation teams to ensure successful realization. You will play a critical role in the entire lifecycle of technology development from initial research and proof-of-concept to product implementation.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Influence Tensor SoC ambient architecture decisions for optimal PPA working cross-functionally with architects, software, and research teams.
  • Leveraging a data-driven approach, employing focused profiling, simulation, and modeling of ambient compute workloads to build consensus and guide architectural decisions across the silicon organization, solving challenging system design problems under ambiguous requirements.
  • Architect SoC system solutions that meet power, performance, and area goals to deliver advanced use cases experience powered by Google’s AI research.
  • Lead proposed solutions through the entire development lifecycle, guiding their evolution from concept to a hardware/software optimized system solution deployed within the SoC.
