Minimum qualifications:

  • 8 years of infrastructure work experience with data centers.
  • 5 years of technical management experience, with or without direct reports, leading teams in the delivery of technical programs or initiatives.
  • 4 years of experience managing projects in data center technology, network architecture, or network capacity planning.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional/team projects in technical program management.
  • 5 years of experience with data center design.
  • 5 years of experience with network planning and architecture.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will provide leadership for data center projects that will include facility implementation planning, development and documentation of deployment standards, detailed data analysis, and corresponding recommendations. You will have subject matter expertise relevant to data center technologies and the technical judgment necessary to drive engineering decisions resulting in significant, positive business impact. You will have the opportunity to use your technical and people leadership skills to have a direct impact on improving data center design and ensuring our users have the networking capacity they need.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Technical Program Managers responsible for designing Google data center server floors and planning network capacity. Provide technical leadership and establish the team's direction, focusing on speed of design, planning, and scaling through automation and tooling.
  • Manage a program portfolio that delivers business impact, establishing a clear cadence for program reviews and prioritization to drive efficiency and utilization gains.
  • Develop technical roadmaps and analysis to scope and plan programs. Improve processes and tooling to increase the team's efficiency and program velocity, and identify change management opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of data center server floor designs and network capacity.
  • Establish a governance structure that drives executive decision-making and ensures dependencies are exposed and mitigated. Implement communication standards across all programs, including executive and key partner communications.
