Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 7 years of experience building and developing large - scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
  • 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
  • 3 years of experience with Remote Direct Memory Access/InfiniBand/High-Performance Computing (RDMA/IB/HPC) networks or Baremetal driver and software work.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 3 years of experience working in a matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.

In this role, you will have experience in large-scale networking and baremetal platforms and with GPU or RDMA networks deployed at scale using automated processes, and with large, scalable monitoring and alerting frameworks in place. You will have experience with Firmware (FW), Driver, Operating System (OS), or Network infrastructure configuration and debugging is highly desirable. You will work closely with teams all over Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to create a new product.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive technical goal and strategy for the Hybrid and On-prem Infrastructure business. This includes defining and delivering groundbreaking architecture, setting the multi-year roadmap, and anticipating future industry trends to maintain Google's leadership.
  • Lead the architectural design, development, and delivery of large-scale infrastructure solutions that are critical to Google Cloud's migration, modernization, and workload efforts.
  • Serve as a primary technical influencer, shaping product and team direction through collaboration with peer engineers, engineering managers, and executive leadership across Google teams and with external partners.
  • Initiate, build, and lead high-impact technical partnerships with internal cross-functional organizations and external vendors, often operating at the executive and principal engineer levels to drive multi-party initiatives.
  • Advocate for our customers, understand their technical requirements and driving the ideation, design, and delivery of innovative solutions that redefine industry standards and exceed user expectations.
