About the job

As a Distinguished Engineer for AI-Powered Safety, you will be the most executive technical leader responsible for setting the outlook and driving the technical architecture for transforming content moderation across Google. You will lead the charge to reinvent it, moving from a purely human-centric model to one that is AI-first and AI-assisted, so as to empower humans to increase the company's ability to cover the wide and deep spectrum of harm and misuse the Internet is facing. This is an executive, direct individual contributor role that requires a blend of deep technical expertise in large-scale AI systems and a strategic mindset to solve critical operational challenges.

In this role, you will be responsible for the overarching technical strategy that enables the automation and assistance of millions of human review hours, leveraging LLMs and agentic systems. You will architect and build the foundational platforms and intelligent systems that will be used across all of Google's product areas to ensure content safety and quality. This role sits at the intersection of Trust and Safety and Core engineering, and you will provide the technical guidance and outlook to unite dozens of teams toward a common architectural future. Serve as the executive technical advisor to executive sponsors, providing insights and guidance on technical feasibility, risk, and the long-term roadmap. You will lead the technical innovation required to achieve a multi-year roadmap, while demonstrably improving the quality and consistency of our content safety decisions.
