Microsoft Azure has been a leader in advancing confidential computing technology, which provides a new level of security for cloud workloads. Our vision is to transform Microsoft Azure into the Azure Confidential Cloud and enable the industry to move from computing in the clear to computing confidentially, both in the cloud and at the edge.
As a Principal Engineer Manager, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting features that enable confidential compute. You will help customers achieve the highest levels of privacy and security by delivering technology that protects data in use, complementing existing protections for data at rest and in transit. This role offers opportunities to learn about cloud infrastructure, operate at scale, and work on technologies that secure the cloud. You will collaborate across multiple technology teams within Microsoft and with the broader industry community to advance the state of the art in confidential computing.
In this position, you will lead design efforts, mentor engineers, and ensure the delivery of extensible and maintainable code. Responsibilities include identifying dependencies, creating design documents, and driving project plans across teams. You will hold accountability as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), monitor systems for reliability, and proactively adopt new trends and technical solutions to improve performance and consistency at scale.
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals.
