Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with network routing protocols, design and troubleshooting, with network equipment providers.
  • Experience in one or more programming languages such as C++, Go, or Python.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in a large-scale networking environment, serving in an Engineering or Operations capacity.
  • Experience in planning and designing networks across multiple sites and for various products.
  • Experience in driving projects related to network scaling, network build and optimization, routing protocol design and optimization, optical networking, incident management, and data analysis.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define Network health standards and policies, measures, and optimization opportunities to drive high reliability.
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of internal teams to represent and advocate operational network needs as well as successfully implement plans.
  • Coordinate between various cross-functional teams, set clear expectations about responsibilities, communicate with stakeholders, and measure success.
  • Identify problems and drive cross-functional solutions at scale across our wider operations organization, increasing operational efficiency. Identify design optimization opportunities and specify requirements into development organizations for improved network performance and resiliency.
  • Lead network health results delivery and reviews. Drive efficient process improvement on how Google Networking manages network risk. Drive cross-functional collaboration on risk mitigation.
