We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join Microsoft Specialized Clouds! Microsoft Specialized Clouds (MSC) is at the forefront of delivering industry-leading cloud and edge capabilities for customers with advanced sovereignty, security, and compliance needs. Microsoft Specialized Clouds engineering team is looking to hire talented and highly motivated Software Engineers to be on point for designing and implementing the next-generation Specialized Clouds products and services for customers across the globe. This person will need to be solid technically, with in-depth knowledge and experience in analyzing data and requirements, designing, developing and releasing services or products to end users

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java or Python
o OR equivalent experience.
• Experience in programming, design and problem-solving skills, with a solid bias for quality and engineering excellence.
• Experience developing cross-platform software.
• Experience with modern software development and/or micro service technologies.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
o OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
o OR equivalent experience.
• Experience in implementing large-scale, low latency and high-quality distributed systems.
• Experience in developing Agentic AI applications.
• 3+ years hands on experience in any language such as C#, Go, Rust or Powershell.
• Experience in Kubernetes and familiar with open sources services in Kubernetes ecosystem.
• Cloud and services experience, with Azure cloud experience as a preference.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
