We are seeking a visionary and technically skilled Senior Data Architect - Digital Transformation Solutions, to lead the design and implementation of advanced data solutions that power AI-driven insights across our enterprise. This role will focus on semantic data modeling, ontology development, and data engineering within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, enabling scalable, intelligent data platforms that support analytics, machine learning, and decision-making.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling, or data engineering
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling, or data engineering
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric components and ecosystem.
  • Experience in ontology engineering and graphs.
  • Experience with machine learning pipelines, feature stores, and model metadata management.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and metadata standards.

Other Requirements:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture.
  • 3+ years focused on AI and semantic modeling.
  • Experience with GenAI, LLMs, and vector databases.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and metadata standards (e.g., DCAT, schema.org).
  • Proficient communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in data engineering tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Spark, SQL).
  • Certification in Microsoft Azure or Microsoft Fabric technologies.
  • Contributions to open-source ontology or semantic web projects.

 

Data Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement scalable data solutions using Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Data Factory, Synapse, and Power BI.
  • Design and maintain enterprise ontologies and semantic models to support AI and knowledge graph initiatives.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML teams to ensure data structures and pipelines support advanced analytics and model training.
  • Lead the data engineering strategy, including ingestion, transformation, and orchestration of structured and unstructured data.
  • Define and enforce data governance, metadata management, and data quality standards.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate strategic goals into data architecture requirements.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies in AI, semantic web, and data mesh architectures.
  • Mentor junior architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
