Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with mobile software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching iOS software product.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience leading the design, development, and launch of high-quality iOS applications.
  • Experience in mentorship of an engineering team, driving architectural decisions and ensuring technical excellence.
  • Experience delivering impactful features from concept to launch, reaching users and driving key product metrics.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships in a cross-functional environment, effectively collaborating with Product, Design, Backend, and other key stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

We build front-end experience for Google Home App on phone, tablet and more. In this role, you will focus on iOS front-end mobile development, and there will be opportunities to get involved in the Service and Platform layers. You will also have opportunities on Android mobile development, ML, release infra, and Services integration.

The Google Home team focuses on hardware, software and services offerings for the home, ranging from thermostats to smart displays. The Home team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the tech lead of Home Agent on the iOS side.
  • Mentor junior developers on roadmap, architecture and execution.
  • Understand iOS mobile development, fluent in Swift/SwiftUI/UIKit or Objective-C.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, working with team members, UX and Product Managers to define and optimize approaches to solve customer issues.
  • Be adaptive to fast moving work demand.
