Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience building developer tools (e.g., compilers, automated releases, code design and testing, test automation frameworks).
  • Experience applying artificial intelligence solutions to real-world problems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience with performance, large-scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Experience in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.
  • Experience with Generative AI technology.

As a part of the Pixel Wearables Test Engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional quality for products like the Google Pixel Watch through rigorous, end-to-end testing. As a core contributor, you will develop solutions that ensure products meet the highest quality standards.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Build AI/ML solutions, including agent-based workflows and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, to power features like automated test plan generation, AI-assisted debugging, and bug fix validation plans.
  • Partner with Test Engineers to understand their workflows and translate needs for testing end-to-end user scenarios into technical requirements and polished software solutions.
  • Create and integrate front-end components and dashboards to provide intuitive user interfaces for interacting with tools and visualizing test coverage reports.
  • Drive ownership of key components within our testing frameworks and toolchain, leading them from conception and design through to deployment and maintenance in a production environment.
  • Evaluate new AI technologies and software engineering practices to continuously enhance the capabilities and architecture of our testing tools.
