Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
- 5 years of experience in people management, with technical leadership.
- Experience with Operating Systems, including areas such as kernel, memory management, or connectivity.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
- 7 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales finance, and other stakeholders.
- 7 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., marketing, business operations, consulting).
- 5 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to executive leadership.
- Experience working with external partners such as ODMs, OEMs, SoC vendors or other silicon partners.

As Group Product Manager, Laptops and Tablets OS, you will lead a team of talented and motivated Product Managers, and work closely with hardware and software engineering teams, other Product Managers, marketing, data scientists, operations, partner management, business development, external device manufacturers, and device brands. You will engage with teams across the OS technology stack and weigh investments based on business and user needs.The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Product Managers responsible for stewarding overall BaseOS priorities, including areas like kernel, storage, memory management, or connectivity.
- Establish the goal, strategy, feature roadmap, and technology investment opportunities for various BaseOS areas across near-term and long-term horizons, including intermediary milestones.
- Create the road map for the BaseOS team and obtain leadership and partner support.
- Set quarterly and annual objectives and priorities, in partnership with internal and external partners.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, data scientists, and user research to define and build features that are simple and speedy while navigating tradeoffs.
