Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years managing technical projects in the silicon development industry.
  • 15 years of leading teams within technical program management or engineering management or equivalent roles.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries, build relationships, and import and export talent and ideas to achieve a broader organizational goal.
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.

About the job

As Director of Technical Program Management (TPM), you will lead the technical infrastructure (TI) development Program Management Office (PMO) chartered with delivering TI innovation with a focus on delivering against customer needs and always accelerating time to value.

In this role, you will have a broad remit, ranging from custom silicon, to innovative software/hardware solutions that span data center, compute, networking ,and storage areas. You will be an excellent leader and utilize experience managing teams of different disciplines to deliver results in a timely manner. Setting outlook and direction, improving productivity, quality standards, resolving systemic problems across engineering organizations, identifying trends, and implementing change are all keys to success.

The ML, Systems, & Cloud AI (MSCA) organization at Google designs, implements, and manages the hardware, software, machine learning, and systems infrastructure for all Google services (Search, YouTube, etc.) and Google Cloud. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $320,000-$445,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead a technical program management office supporting Google’s Technical Infrastructure development organization.
  • Manage the development and delivery of programs spanning technical Infrastructure engineering areas.
  • Partner across Google Product Areas (PAs) to ensure technical infrastructure innovations developed supports future needs.
  • Be responsible for leading planning, execution, and delivery of internal and external programs and initiatives.
  • Partner with executive leadership engineering and product managers and to ensure TPM alignment with engineering and product priorities. Forecast resourcing requirements for TPM, while driving sublinear scaling at a rapid pace.
