About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The team works cross-functionally to define and coordinate strategy, develop and scale new solutions that accelerate decarbonization and serve as a point of technical coordination across Google on energy and carbon. The team also drives a measurement and standards program that embeds climate-related methodologies across the company.

As a Carbon Reduction Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for delivering data insights, driving process improvements, and scoping tool developments that are necessary to achieve Google’s carbon reduction goals. This includes partnering with cross-functional data science, energy procurement, and software development teams to define technical business requirements, identify solutions, scope scenario analysis and to project manage the development of new processes and solutions. You will provide technical leadership and quality control reviews on data models used to inform leadership on critical business decisions.

The Global Sustainability team enables Google to build a more sustainable future for everyone by driving strategy and solutions. We drive the development and implementation of Google’s global sustainability strategy to further empower action, ensure alignment and prioritization, identify leadership opportunities, and mitigate risks. We drive sustainability strategy and programs on carbon, circular economy, water, product integration, reporting, and employee engagement, while serving as a sustainability leadership advocate internally and externally.
