  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • Experience with Python.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the technical goal, architecture, and roadmap for a new generation of agentic automation capabilities.
  • Advise the team's technical efforts in advancing Google's Gemini models through innovative data processing, fine-tuning, Reinforcement Learning, and evaluation methodologies.
  • Mentor and grow a talented team of ML and Software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration through design reviews, code reviews, and direct guidance.
  • Serve as the technical liaison with partner teams in Google DeepMind, Google Research, and product areas like Chrome, Pixel, and Android to drive complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Make critical architectural decisions and resolve the team's most challenging technical issues in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced Research and Development environment.
